Villa Zacconi is a handsome villa that has recently been sensitively restored so that its original character and features have been retained, yet it is also very comfortable.  The villa is very spacious and light, with high ceilings.  It really feels like a home, rather than a rental property, with comfortable beds, a very well-equipped kitchen, satellite TV, good shutters/curtains in every bedroom, and comprehensive air conditioning everywhere.  Extensive Wi-Fi coverage of the outdoor sitting areas and swimming pool is a thoughtful touch.

The photos don't do justice to the outdoor living space set among the beautiful garden, including separate outdoor sitting and dining areas, as well as the roof top sitting / sunbathing area, which gets a very pleasant breeze especially during the midday heat.  We made extensive use of these and ate nearly all our meals outside.  The swimming pool is also fantastic, getting sun most of the day, and was consistently a pleasant temperature for swimming even first thing in the morning.

The house is located on a small hill, giving a good sense of peace and privacy with very few other houses nearby, and a lovely view of the mountains beyond Camaiore.  Camaiore itself is a short drive away, a pleasant but not touristy typical Tuscan town with a great range of local shops and restaurants, while better-known tourist destinations such as Lido di Camaiore, Forte Dei Marmi and Pietrasanta are an easily accessible 15-25-minute drive.

Daniel, the villa's owner, was a gracious and thoughtful host, taking considerable time and effort to show us round the house, and recommending a number of excellent local shops and restaurants.  He was very responsive to any questions and arranged for us a chef specializing in local cuisine who cooked several delicious dinners in the villa, which we particularly enjoyed.  Daniel really went out of his way to help us make the most of our week at Villa Zacconi, for which we were very grateful.

We hope very much to return to delightful Villa Zacconi soon, and strongly recommend it to any prospective guests.

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Villa Zacconi. This was a family multigenerational trip. Villa Zacconi worked perfectly.

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Villa Zacconi.  This was a family multigenerational trip.  Villa Zacconi worked perfectly.  From the moment we arrived we relaxed and felt totally spoilt.  The family that own the villa take great pride in their home and it shows.  We couldn’t fault anything.  The villa was spotless thanks to the lovely Maria who visited every morning to clean.  Daniel the owner spent time showing us how everything worked and was on at hand if we had needed any assistance.  He was incredibly courteous and helpful.  It was a joy to stay at Villa Zacconi.  The only minus point was having to pack and leave.

My family and I had a wonderful holiday in Italy this past August. We stayed in a lovely villa just outside the town of Camaiore not far from Lucca.

My family and I had a wonderful holiday in Italy this past August. We stayed in a lovely villa just outside the town of Camaiore not far from Lucca. Daniel, the owner of the villa, was a delightful host, welcoming us on arrival and providing us with plenty of basic food supplies and wines to get us through the settling in period comfortably. The 6 bedrooms were spacious and clean, each with an en-suite bathroom and AC. I would have liked to have had more higher-end amenities in the bathroom such as soaps, body lotions, shampoo, and shower gels, but the basic amenities of shampoo and body wash were certainly adequate. Although we spent very little time inside, the villa had plenty of seating areas and entertainment options available. There was also, a stunning rooftop patio with magnificent 360-degree views of the mountains surrounding our valley. The grounds were lovely and private with picturesque outside seating and dining areas.
There was plenty of dining, sightseeing, and shopping available in the 3 small towns nearby as well as art galleries and installations. Also, Lucca and Pisa are an easy drive away. If swimming in the sea is what you are looking for, Forte de Marme offers beaches, beach clubs, and sophisticated dining and shopping. As we were a party of 10, reservations for dinner were always required.
I would highly recommend Villa Zacconi if your choice is to stay closer to the Mediterranean in Tuscany.

"The beauty of the garden, the spectacular view view, the freshness of the pool, the authenticity of the house and that special feeling of the Versilia coast have transported us to a limbo of well-being appreciated by the whole family, adults and kids! Thanks to Daniel and his super littke team!"
